Our remote sensor with LCD is designed for remote temperature reporting where viewing the location temperature is required and the weather may be cooler. The unit is safe to -40°F when using Lithium batteries (use two AA batteries, not included). When using standard alkaline batteries, the unit is safe to -4ºF.
